New Developments in Integrating
Nutrition with Exercise
Nutrient Timing
After developing TriSystem Nutrition over 15 years and Directing
the National Association of Sports Nutrition for 8 years, I have
come to realize getting healthy and fit is not as easy as
the infomercials say. Separate from those heavily marketed "miracle
products" , there are sound scientific methods
to maximize both the rate and significance of change in people
who learn from human science and the research there of.
It is now an undisputable fact that nutrient timing plays a
significant role in optimizing exercise and recovery from
exercise in order to improve fitness. Therefore, I have
found that consuming a specific, balanced mini-meal both before
and after workouts containing nutrients at the right dosages
significantly improves the effects of that workout. That
is why we now give everyone a menu that contains pre and post
workout meals. Everyone who works out at the TriSystem
Center gets a pre and post workout meal with supplements made
for them.

Efficient Exercise
Since we have opened the TriSystem Center, we have been studying
the application of each workout we administer. The results
are astounding. In the case of developing a plan to lower
body fat while simultaneously trying to gain or at least
maintain skeletal muscle mass, we have found that a specific
combination of giant sets at short rest intervals in a rep range
averaging 20 reps is ideal. Several of our clients are getting
greater than expected results with this "modified circuit" type
training with workouts including 45 minutes of "long time under
tension" resistance and less
than 10 minutes of dedicated cardio. We have collaborated
both research and observed client results to determine the most
efficient combination of resistance training and cardiovascular
training invoking fat loss while increasing skeletal muscle
mass.

Practical Application
Of
all the variables involved in both the science of nutrition and
exercise, frequency is the most influential factor to improve
metabolism. Research has shown that eating 5 to 6
times a day and exercising almost daily are required to achieve
and maintain health and fitness enough to offset
mortality by the leading causes of death.
Therefore, we have developed individual plans for our clientele,
applying these principles to create the perfect combination of
nutrition and exercise for these results. We offer one-one
one programs that focus on the individual. We have had
great response to this program with the average sessions
occurring once or twice a week. Because frequency is the
major variable in the rate of success in our clientele, we have
developed a program that increases the number of workouts per
week along with pre and post workout meals and supplements.
This increases the average number of workouts from 1-2 times
per week to 3-5 times per week for the same or less cost.
It also increases the number of meals we provide. On a
workout day we provide 2 out of the five or six meals you need
for proper nutrient timing.
These special sessions cost as low as
$20. Special Nutrition sessions cost as low as $15. They
include an initial assessment and body composition.
Thank you for considering our new program backed by
research, experience and client results. We are constantly
studying, analyzing and applying the latest findings in
nutrition and exercise to make your plan a successful one.
Join us so we can get you results that ultimately benefit
someone else, as we study your response to our efforts.
Sincerely,
